1920’s:

  • Golf played at various locations around Enniscrone

1931:

  • New 9 Hole Course opened at Bartra -Annual Membership was £1!

1933:

  • First green-keeper employed with his horse-drawn fairway mower

1947:

  • Clubhouse built at a cost of £400
  • George Helly playing ofF scratch beaten in the quarter finals of The West Of Ireland

1959:

  • Due to war and emigration, membership was down to 14

1963:

  • Club enters first team in Interclub Competitions (Connacht Shields)

1969:

  • Increasing prosperity in the area sees memberships increase to over 100

1970:

  • Eddie Hackett begins to work on designing new 18-Hole course

1972:

  • 12 miles of wire laid down to exclude livestock from the course

1974:

  • New 18-Hole course and clubhouse opened

1978:

  • Connacht Senior Cup Winners

1984:

  • Kenny Cup Winners

1987:

  • Cecil Ewing Shield Winners

1989:

  • New clubhouse opened

1990:

  • All Ireland Junior Foursomes Champions

1991:

  • Connacht Irish Club Youths Champions

  • Enniscrone host Irish Amateur Close Championship won by Eddie Power (Tramore)

  • Re-design of old 7th Hole (present 10th) by Pat Ruddy

1997-1999:

  • Enniscrone host West of Ireland Championships

  • All Ireland Smurfit Junior Winners

  • Connacht Senior  Inter- Club Trophy Winners
  • ILGU Western District Connacht Shield Foursome Winners
  • Donald Steel begins work in re-designing course into the dunes
  • Enniscrone ranked 85th in Golf World Top 100 courses

2000:

  • Connacht Mixed Foursome Champions

2001:

  • New 18 Hole (The Dunes) and new 9-Hole (Scurmore) courses & an extended
    clubhouse opened.
  • ILGU Western District Senior Cup Winners

2002:

  • Ennsicrone Winner of Irish Golf Tour Operations Assosiation Golf Course of the Year

2009:

  • Enniscrone hosts Irish Amateur Close Championship won by Pat Murray  (Limmerick)

  • Enniscrone ranked 20th best golf course in Ireland by Golf Digest Ireland

2010:

  • Enniscrone ranked 10th place of modern golf course in Great Britain & Ireland by

2013:

  • IGTOA staged their Annual Golf Day at Ennsicrone Golf Club.  Over 100 people from the  Golf Tourism Industry entered the competition
  • Enniscrone Golf Club JB Carr team All Ireland Champions

2014 :

  • Enniscrone hosts the Irish Ladies Amateur Close championships
  • Enniscrone Golf Club Pierce Purcell team win Connacht Pennant as Champions
  • Enniscrone Golf Links voted best links in Connacht by ‘Golfers Guide  to Ireland’

2015:

  • Sarah Helly wins the Irish Ladies Amateur Close Championships
  • Enniscrone Golf Links voted best links in Connacht Golfers Guide to Ireland
  • Enniscrone is ranked 51st in Top 100 Links Courses in GB and Ireland by National Club Golfer magazine
  • Enniscrone ranked 15th in Top 100 Courses in Ireland by Golf Digest

2016: Enniscrone ranked in 53rd position of Top 100 Courses in Great Britain & Ireland by Golf World

2017: Clubhouse refurbishment with new locker rooms

2018: Centenary Year Celebrations; Driving Range constructed. Golf Links voted best links in Connacht by ‘Golfers Guide  to Ireland’.

2019: Ranked 13th in Ireland’s Top 100 courses. Tee it Forward course options established.

2020: Golf Links voted best links in Connacht by ‘Golfers Guide  to Ireland’. The Year of the Pandemic forcing two lockdowns in April/May and October/November.

2021: The second year of the pandemic but a good year for Enniscrone teams with the club winning the All-Ireland Men’s National Fourball  and the Connacht Boys Junior Foursomes. Vici Conlon was the gallant winner of Irish Girls Close – Plate Matchplay.
